Annual Fall Picnic
Posted on Oct 31st, 2019
A little rain didn’t dampen the spirits of the folks who attended this year’s picnic held on September 21st at the Meadowlark Shelter in Sar-Ko-Par Park. The Association provided ample amounts of barbequed brisket, pulled pork, smoked turkey and baked beans from Joe’s Kansas City Bar-B-Que, as well plenty of drinks and extras. Many thanks go out to Kathy Mayer, our Association’s Social Chair for organizing the event and to the rest of the board of directors for assisting in this year’s picnic.

Lenexa's Bulky Item Pick-up
In the past, Country Hill residents got one Bulky Item Pick-up per year following the Spring Garage Sale, but now you get two!
Residents may have one item picked up on the scheduled day after the Annual Spring Garage Sale. The City of Lenexa provides a service through Waste Management for as many items as they can load in their truck in 15 minutes for items at curbside. All residents need to do is call 1-800-631-3301 and schedule a day at your convenience!
Items that Waste Management will or will not pick up are below:
· Items that contain Freon or other hazardous materials (i.e., batteries, paint, gasoline) will not be picked up.
· Items such as yard waste and electronic waste will not be picked up.
· Waste Management will pick up appliances such as microwaves, washers, and dryers.
· Waste Management will pick up a lawnmower if it contains no gasoline.
Household Hazardous Waste Disposal
To help protect our environment, household hazardous waste items such as paint, lawn chemicals, etc. should be disposed of properly rather than in the landfill. The Johnson County Environmental Department operates a drop-off facility that will accept your household hazardous waste items. A list of accepted items along with additional information can be found HERE.
You may schedule an appointment for drop-off of household hazardous materials online by clicking the link below or by calling (913)715-6900. Mobile collection services are also available for homebound residents.
